| Jake Clark’s Mule Days Art Show & Auction debuted in 2006. We look to continue to develop and improve the event, as we strive to bring more awareness and appreciation of the saddle mule nationwide with an opportunity to create art highlighting the saddle mule in it’s role throughout history to present day. This Art will be accepted by a jury process and will be limited to a maximum of 50 pieces. |

GENERAL INFORMATION: |
Theme: “Depicting the West.”
Eligibility:
Only artists may enter themselves in the show, and they may do so only once. Each artist may authorize an agent to act as a representative. Artists’ agents or representatives must have a letter of authorization from each artist they represent. This letter must specifically identify the agent and contain a statement transferring responsibility for the artwork to the agent.
All entries must be works of the artist(s).
Submitting Your Work for publishing in the catalogue:
Deadline April 1st.
You may submit your work by digital format. (.gif, .jpg, .bmp – we recommend 300dpi resolution) with your application. You may also submit prints (3” x 5” or 4”x 6”) if you’d like – we will convert them to digital images. However, prints may not be returned.
You must submit three (3) images of your work. All entries MUST BE LABELED with the artist’s name, address, telephone number, title and category with or on the back of the work.
Fees: Entry fees are $25 per application and per category. It will be deposited upon receipt and will not be refunded. |
Donation of Art:
Each artist has the option of donating all or a portion of their work to a Non-profit organization. Donations can be fully/partially donated toward the following non-profit organizations (No exceptions). *See Donation Match Below. Each buyer has the option of donating to any charity listed on the donor page. Also see Donation Match below. |
Donation Match:
Donations made by the artist to any charity will be matched by Jake Clark’s Mule Days up to the donation amount to a maximum of 10% of the sale price of the art piece. Donations made by both the artist and the buyer to any charity will be matched by Jake Clark’s Mule Days for the combined donation amount of both donors to a maximum of $20% of the sale price of the art piece. Donations must be made payable directly to the charity as specified above and given to the office of Jake Clark’s Mule Days for any matching funds to be forwarded on the founation on behalf of the artist’s or buyer’s matching donation. |
Rules:
Each applicant may apply only once for a specific category. All work exhibited must be original art produced by the artist. No offset reproductions of any kind may be displayed or auctioned. Limited edition prints will NOT be permitted. These rules will be strictly enforced. Not-For-Sale work is not permitted. |

SHOW INFORMATION: |
Silent Auction - All Art entered will have a Silent Auction bidding form provided by Jake Clark’s Mule Days and be available for bids during hours of operation. The artist will place the lowest price they will accept for their art piece on their entry and if the bidding meets that minimum bid by closing time on Sunday…the art will be considered sold.
If minimum bid is NOT received, Exhibitor will be contacted by cell phone and notified of last bid received. If the artist agrees to take the final bid, the artwork will be considered sold. At 5 p.m., Sunday, if art work is not sold, it will be the responsibility of the artist to pickup their artwork between the times designated or have prearranged shipping instructions for return.
For all sold artwork, the artist and buyer will be notified and the payment will be required prior to releasing any art. Art that is sold will return 70% of the bid price to the artist, or the designated percentage of the bid price. The accepted bid price must be within the designated amount per entry form provided by the artist. |
Use of Art Work:
Jake Clark’s Mule Days may wish to use the images for advertising of future events. In this case the artist will be contacted for approval. It is the specific intention of Jake Clark’s Mule Days to use the artwork for the promotion of future events, including but not limited to Jake Clark’s Mule Days annually. |
Security:
Security is provided during open hours each day. Jake Clark’s Mule Days will make reasonable efforts to insure that the pieces of art will not be damaged or stolen during the exhibition and/or sale of the art pieces. |
Insurance:
We do not provide insurance coverage for art entered in the show. We recommend you verify that your insurance coverage extends to display in the show. |
