DESCRIPTION | Moonshine
Moonshine is a 15.1-hand bay John mule, with eye-catching chrome markings and a classic, solid build that commands attention wherever he goes. His striking appearance is only the beginning of what makes him such a standout mule. With a calm, collected demeanor and an easygoing nature, he’s the type of mule that makes an impression for his reliability, versatility, and gentle manner. Whether he's working in the arena, out on the trails, or helping with livestock, Moonshine excels in every setting, consistently proving himself to be dependable and confident! Under saddle, Moonshine offers an incredibly smooth, steady ride. He carries himself with a relaxed yet responsive demeanor, always riding calm and collected between the bridle reins. His gaits are smooth and natural, with a lope that is slow, easy, and comfortable for riders. Whether you’re looking to go for a leisurely trail ride or work in the arena, Moonshine is the perfect companion. His gait transitions are one of his standout qualities—moving effortlessly from walk to trot to lope without jarring or abruptness. Moonshine is no stranger to work and has experience in a variety of roles. He’s spent time at the sale barn, where he has been used to pen back feeder cattle. His experience handling cattle is invaluable, as he’s comfortable moving stock through confined spaces, gathering them from the pastures, or keeping them sorted in the corral. Out on the trails, Moonshine is as reliable as they come. He’s covered countless miles across varied terrain and has been exposed to a wide range of natural obstacles. From rocky hills and water crossings to fallen trees and steep inclines, Moonshine handles each challenge with a can-do attitude. His surefootedness and steady mindset make him an excellent trail mule, comfortable in any environment, from mountain trails to wooded paths. He’s confident over logs, ditches, and creek crossings, and always remains calm in unfamiliar settings. Moonshine is easy to handle, with great ground manners that make him a pleasure to work with. He’s calm when it comes to having his feet trimmed and is great for the farrier. His ears are easy to handle, and he’s gentle when it comes to grooming and tacking up. Moonshine is also safe and sensible in more bustling environments too! He’s been around traffic, including trips to Sonic to grab a cherry slushy, and he handles the noise and movement of busy areas without blinking an eye. Moonshine is a laid-back guy, yet he’s got the heart and grit to handle whatever job is asked of him. He’s one of those mules you can count on in any situation—whether it’s a tough day on the ranch, a long trail ride, or a quick trip to town. Moonshine is up to date on vaccinations, chiropractic care, dental, coggins/health, worming, and hoof care. Moonshine will sell with our optional two-day clinic at our home facility in Baxter Springs, Kansas.
