DESCRIPTION | PollyGray

PollyGray is a slick superior riding mule. She’s a real thinker and loves to please. Out of a black standard jack and an athletic sorrel Quarter Horse mare, Polly moves with style in the arena and her sure-footedness will save your life on the trail. She has proven work experience, coming out of Oklahoma where she doctored wheat pasture cows/calves. She has packed elk, deer, and bear in the Rockies, and has helped clear trail with the Back Country Horsemen at her home base in Idaho. She’s been ridden by young and old, 4-H kiddos and working cowboys. She rides through water, is steady through bogs, outstanding at picking her way through deadfall, and is patient and careful on scree. You can mount and dismount from either side, and she will sidestep over to a fence, log, or mounting block when cued. She does not balk when bridling, nor does she bite or kick. She’s good with her feet and is dog, cat, goat, lamb, and llama friendly. Did we mention she loves to work cows? She’s easy to catch, load, clip, bathe, shoe and is well-mannered. Ride Polly in a halter, bosal, snaffle or shank. She’s a pro at ground driving, knows her cues, and stands on command. As an added bonus, we have introduced her to some dressage maneuvers and to jumps. She’ll ride English and Western. Polly has had plenty of groundwork making her a splendidly fine equine. If you’re new to mules, then she’s the mule you won’t have find a clinic to get “sorted out”, and if you’re an expert mule skinner, then you’ll see she has what it takes to impress.
