Matt & Pam Fournier - Rafter F Mules

Matt and Pam Fournier are lifelong equine enthusiasts who have owned and trained horses and mules since childhood. Matt grew up on a large cattle ranch in Central California. As a youngster he competed in roping and gymkhana events throughout California and soon began to raise, train and show registered Quarterhoreses and Paints. During his lifelong career in the equine industry Matt has run large stud farms, shown horses and mules at the world champion level, judged shows, started and trained countless horses and mules and ran several cattle ranches and horse training operations. Pam was that little girl who talked her parents into buying her a horse when she was 4 years old, and her interest and involvement in the equine business has grown from there. She spent her youth trail riding in California and then Oregon, showing her horse and competing in gaming and cattle events. Pam’s passion for the ultimate back country equine culminated in the two meeting and it wasn’t long before Matt and Pam got together. Since 1999 they have owned and operated Fournier Training, a small equine training and breeding facility located in beautiful Bend, Oregon. In 2003 Matt and Pam adopted two young children who, in spite of not coming from a rural family, instantly took to the ranch lifestyle and both became accomplished riders and trainers. This family’s love of everything equine and the great outdoors naturally led them to mules and they have been riding, training, showing, raising and selling mules and horses together for over 20 years. The Fourniers have competed at horse shows for many years but over the last decade they have focused on showing their mules which has resulted in almost 20 world championships along with numerous other high points and other awards. Matt and Pam are fortunate to travel all over the country in pursuit of great mules and great riding, but they have discovered that one of the most enjoyable things about their job is meeting and working with fellow mule enthusiasts.
