DESCRIPTION | Once in a Blue Moon AKA Merle
Once in A Blue Moon "Merle" is a 7 year old, 16 hand, iron grey, John mule. Affectionately known as our "gentle giant", Merle may be large in stature, but worry not, he's a smooth, graceful ride. Merle is registered with the North American Saddle Mule & Donkey Association (NASMDA). He is sired by the mammoth jack, Diamond Creek Moonwatcher "Moses" and his dam, Blue Roan Robin, AQHA. Experience is not a requirement for Merle, he can take care of the most novice of riders. No stranger to the mountains, Merle has navigated the high country of British Columbia carrying hunters and being used to pack supplies and meat for elk and goat hunts. Daylight or dark, Merle's size and athleticism allows him to sure-footedly maneuver through the rocky mountain terrain with ease. A resident of Western Kentucky, Merle loves his time at Land Between the Lakes squirrel hunting and trail riding. Mounted shooting is no problem. Need a mule for your ranch? Merle loves checking cattle on his family's farm in Kentucky and has been used at the Hoodoo Ranch in Meeteetse, Wyoming pushing cattle. Few mules possess the versatility Merle offers.
